Who We Are

Sisi is an independent lifestyle and culture magazine that caters to the Black female diaspora. Based in Toronto, ON, our focus is on the intersection of race, gender, and culture.

Our Mission

At Sisi, we are sick of hearing people explain that “Blackness isn’t a monolith” and so we’re making it our job to create a world where we don’t have to. Our mission is to address the full range of Black womxnhood, and create a space where we feel seen, heard and understood.

Sisi looks at Black womxnhood from a global perspective, and by creating content and experiences tailored specifically to Black womxn, we want to create a community where they exist on their own terms, and are in control of their own narratives.

Whether it’s providing nuanced and insightful critique on ongoing topics, or sharing valuable stories and experiences, Sisi hopes to be at the forefront of starting the conversations that matter to all Black womxn.
